What is the Ateco equivalent to the Wilton 1M Star Tip?

Where I live I only have access to the Ateco brand icing tips. Can you tell me the Ateco equivalent to the Wilton 1M Star Tip?

Answer:
The Ateco tips that will create a similar look to the Wilton 1M Star Icing Tube are the Ateco 826, 846, and 887. The 826 tip is much more open at the top. On the 826 the ends are curved a bit at the opening and same is true with the 887. The 887 tip also has a swirl pattern imparted into the tip design. Wilton’s 1M tip has a narrow space for the icing to flow through, but there’s no swirl pattern imparted into the design of the tip.

I’m actually a huge fan of Ateco. They make quality products and have outfitted many a bakery over the years. When it comes to icing tips, they are generally thicker and better made. That being said, if you’re using an icing coupler, be sure to purchase it from Ateco as well. Although the look and feel of the Ateco tips might be similar to Wilton, the tubes themselves are different and may not fit your bag properly if you’re using a different brand’s icing coupler.
