Wedding cupcakes have evolved into something very sophisticated and elegant. Of course, some of the most dramatic displays have cupcakes on very large platforms several levels high and other displays impress us with just the sheer number! Either way, it seems that cupcakes for weddings aren’t a passing fad and have established themselves well beyond the trendy alternative. Many themes use the traditional elements established by the tiered cake concept. A white or ivory background has always set off flowers, fresh or candy, beautifully. And the smooth icing style has made its way onto the cupcake as well giving them a sophisticated foundation. Other cake themes focus on creating an understated elegance to the display which works well with cupcakes. Whatever style you choose, these pages are here to help.

Bakery/Cake Goods needed:

Directions for making the hearts:
Step 1: Roll out the fondant on a flat surface. You can use wax paper underneath if you need to.
Step 2: With the heart cutters cut out even number of heart shapes from fondant. To make the larger heart, use the food safe paint brush and water to attach one heart to the other. Wet surface of heart where you want to add shimmer and "paint" on pearl dust. Set aside cut outs on wax paper to harden.
Directions for Icing the Cupcake:
Step 1: Fill the icing bags with butter cream and fit the opening with a 1M tip. Using a circular motion, squeeze out icing to cover the top of the cupcakes.
Step 2: Place the fondant hearts on your cupcakes. You can vary the number and size of the hearts to suit your taste. Add pearlized sprinkles.
Cupcake Tip: This design is also suitable for Valentines Cupcakes. Change the fondant colors using pink and red for the heart cut outs. You can also use pink icing to frost the cupcakes.
