Santa Hat Christmas Cupcakes

You'll have fun making these Santa hat Christmas Cupcakes. Adding a Christmas themed cupcake wrapper adds the right finishing touch, but a plain red cupcake liner will do the trick as well. These little gems will be so cute, no one will wonder where Santa Claus went!Bakery/Cake Goods needed:- Your favorite batch of chocolate cupcakes
- Your favorite butter cream frosting
Santa Hat Decorating Supplies:- Pre-made batch of white fondant (we used Wilton's Ready-to-Use Rolled Fondant)
- Red paste food color (we used Wilton's Red)
- Small Rolling Pin
- Small Knife
- Wax Paper
- Small food safe paint brush
Cupcake Icing Tools- Wilton 1M Star Icing Tip
- Icing Bag
Finishing Touches- Red Cupcake Liners OR Christmas themed Cupcake Wrapper
Directions for making the hats:Step 1: Break off a small amount of fondant and tint it red. Break the red fondant into smaller balls and mold them into a cone shape. Break off a small amount of white fondant and roll on out on flat surface. Cut a white band and fit it around the base of the hat.
Step 2: Break off small ball of white fondant. Slightly curve the tip of the hat over. Attach the white ball of fondant to the end with a little water. Set aside the assembled pieces on the wax paper to harden.
Directions for Icing the Cupcake:Step 1: Fill the icing bag butter cream and fit the opening with the 1M tip. Using a circular motion, squeeze out icing to cover the top of the cupcakes.
Step 2: Place the hats on your cupcakes.
Directions Finishing Touches:If you've already baked your cupcake in a red liner, you are set to go. You can also embellish your cupcake with a fun Christmas themed cupcake wrapper you purchased or made yourself.
