Halloween Cupcake Wrappers

Move over grade school cupcakes! Here come custom Halloween Cupcake Wrappers sure to please everyone thanks to the talents of Judy Wang. With the sparkly spiders, she starts her design witn a simple black spider. You can either draw these on the cupcake wrapper paper, use spider stickers or cut out a spider outline like Judy did with a paper punch and placed black paper behind the cut out. Next, Judy embellished them by gluing on rhinestone. Perfect!

For these haunted house cupcakes, Judy started by placing her baked cupcakes in a black cupcake liner. Then she wrapped a black filigree cupcake wrapper around the cupcake. She finished her design with simple theme focused cupcake picks.





Happy Halloween Cupcake Wrappers


Materials/Supplies needed to make wrapper:

  • Sturdy piece of purple or orange
    scrapbook or construction paper
  • (it can be a solid or a pattern)

  • Transparent Tape
  • Glue Stick

Tools needed to make wrapper:

  • Wrapper template
  • (see below for more information)

  • Sharp Scissors
  • Pencil

Supplies for "Happy Halloween" Embellishment:

  • White or orange solid scrapbook paper
  • (or you can use your left over scrap from the wrapper template | if using a computer printer select a paper that can be used with it safely)

  • Black scrapbook paper
  • Regular black pen or calligraphy pen
  • (you can also use a computer with word processing program and printer)

  • Sharp Scissors
  • Small scallop or zig-zag pattern scissors

Directions for the wrapper:

Step 1: Using the pencil, trace wrapper pattern onto the scrapbook or construction paper and cut it out. You can also use a die cut template (see below for more information).

Step 2: Assemble wrapper by fastening the ends together. Use tape if needed.

Directions for the embellishment:

Step 1: Draw a 1-½” wide x ¾” tall oval free hand on your scrapbook paper cut out. Using the calligraphy pen, write out “Happy Halloween” in the center of the oval. If you are using a computer, draw the oval using your word processors drawing tools. Type the words “Happy Halloween” into the center of the oval. Print and cut out the shape. (Note: Make sure you are using paper that can safely run through your printer.) Cut a second oval slightly larger than the “Happy Halloween” oval from the black paper using the scallop or zig-zag scissors. Glue two ovals together with the larger black oval on the back.

Step 2: Attach the oval to the front of the cupcake wrapper.

Wrapper Template: Use a cupcake wrapper template or die cutting machine with a wrapper template for a more consistent look.


Halloween Ghost Cupcake Wrapper

Need something a little different to really wow your guests? How about making these very cool Halloween ghost wraps? You start with a plain black wrapper and add the ghost cut-out embellishments. Simple! Easy! Spook-tacular!

Glittery Halloween Cupcake Wrappers

Materials/Supplies Used:

  • Sturdy piece of black scrapbook or construction paper
  • Transparent tape (optional)
  • Glue Stick
  • Silver pen
  • Glitter glue (glue with glitter mixed with the glue medium)
  • 5mm clear jewels or rhinestone gems
  • Glue gun or glue dots

Tools Needed:

  • Straight-edged cupcake wrapper template (You can use a template to make the wrapper or cut a wrapper using a die-cut machine and die pattern)

Directions:

Step 1: Cut your wrapper from the black paper using method of your choice.

Step 2: With the wrapper laying flat, draw a series of "X"s across the surface with the silver pen. Follow that with a thin string of glitter glue. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Using glue dots or glue gun, attach the gems to the center of the "X"s.

Step 4: Assemble the wrapper. Use a bit of tape if you need something stronger to hold the it together.


Simple Halloween Cupcake Wrappers


Materials/Supplies needed to make wrapper:

  • Sturdy piece of orange
    scrapbook or construction paper
  • (it can be a solid or a pattern)

  • Transparent Tape
  • Glue Stick

Tools needed to make wrapper:

  • Wrapper template
  • (see below for more information)

  • Sharp Scissors
  • Pencil

Supplies for Embellishment:

  • Black scrapbook paper
  • (or you can use your left over scrap from another project)

  • Round Halloween stickers no bigger than 3/4" wide
  • Small scallop or zig-zag pattern scissors

Directions for the Halloween cupcake wrappers:

Step 1: Using the pencil, trace wrapper pattern onto the scrapbook or construction paper and cut it out. You can also use a die cut template (see below for more information).

Step 2: Assemble wrapper by fastening the ends together. Use tape if needed.

Directions for the embellishment:

Step 1: Draw a 1" circle on the black scrapbook paper and cut out with the patterned scissors. Attach the round sticker to the center.

Step 2: Attach the entire layered circle to the front of the cupcake wrapper.

Wrapper Template: Use a cupcake wrapper template or die cutting machine with a wrapper template for a more consistent look.
