This easy fondant daisy is a great flower to try making if you haven't made fondant flowers before. It's as simple as cutting out shapes and stacking them together!
Tools and Supplies:
Pre-made white fondant
Pre-made fondant tinted yellow
Small Rolling Pin
Large and Medium size Daisy Flower Cutter
Thin Foam Shaping Pad
Veining Tool
Flower Formers
Food-safe paint brush
Gumpaste Glue
Toothpicks
Yellow-tinted Sugar
Directions:
Step 1: With the small rolling pin, roll white fondant out on a flat surface.
Step 2: Cut out daisy flower shapes from the fondant using the large and small daisy flower cutters.
Step 3: Clean up the cut edges of your daisy shapes using a little shortening on your fingers.
Step 4: Place your flower shapes on the shaping foam. Using the veining tool, start at the tip of the flower petal and pull the tool toward the center of the flower to give the petal a curl.
Step 5: After curling all the petals, place your large daisy flower shape in the flower former. Dip your food safe paint brush in gum paste glue and wet the center of your flower shape.
Step 6: Place the medium daisy flower shape on top. Off set the petals so they create a fuller flower effect.
Step 7: Break off a small amount of yellow fondant and roll it into a ball.
Step 8: Place the yellow fondant ball on the tip of a toothpick. Brush gum paste glue on the surface. Roll the ball in the yellow sugar.
Step 9: Dab a bit of gum paste glue in the center of your stacked daisy petals. Place the yellow ball coated with sugar in the center. Press down gently in the center to flatten the ball. Your fondant daisy is complete!
