Stunning cupcake centerpieces like this one don't have to be a lot of work or effort. Simply decorated cupcakes in deep rich colors are all you need to pull off this elegant look.
Bakery/Cake Goods Needed: - 6 vanilla or chocolate cupcakes
- Your favorite butter cream frosting recipe tinted orange
Rose Decorating Supplies: - 1 small batch of premade fondant (we used Wilton’s Ready-To-Use Rolled Fondant in white)
- Red and Green Food coloring (we used Wilton’s paste food color in Red and Moss Green)
- Leaf-shaped fondant cutter
- Small knife
- Curved floral former
- Small rolling pin
- Wax Paper
- Food-safe paint brush
Cupcake Icing Tools: - Wilton #1M Star Tip
- Icing Bag
Finishing Touches: - 1 4” flameless pillar candle
- Brown cupcake liners
Making the flowers: Step 1: Break off a small amount of white fondant and tint it moss green. Color the remaining fondant red. Step 2: With the small rolling pin, roll the green fondant out on a flat surface. Cut out leaves with the leaf cutter. Pinch the end of the leaf to give leaf some dimension. Lay leaves on the flower former to dry in a curved shape. You may need to let them dry overnight. Step 3: With the small rolling pin, roll red fondant out on a flat surface. With a sharp knife, cut fondant into 1/2" strips about 6” long. Fold the fondant down about 1/4" on one side. Starting at one end, roll the fondant into a coil. Set aside on wax paper to dry. Icing and Decorating the Cupcakes: Step 1: Fill the icing bag with butter cream and fit the opening with a Wilton #1M Star metal tip. Step 2: Starting from the outside edge of the cupcake, use a circular motion and squeeze the icing out to cover the cupcake. Step 3: Place one red rose and one leaf on each cupcake. Finishing Touches: Place flameless candle in the center of the table and surround with six cupcakes. Add a mirror to really punch up the drama!
