Christmas Cupcake Toppers

Christmas cupcake toppers come in a wide variety of designs and concepts. Browse these pages for inspiration to help you come up with a few of your own!

Christmas 3-D Sticker Cupcake Toppers

These 3D sticker picks are very easy to put together. Start with a 1-1/2" round paper punch and red or white scrap book paper and punch out your circles. Next, select a Christmas-themed 3-D sticker you like from your local craft store. Be sure to pick a size that will fit on your punched shapes. Attach your stickers and you’re done!

Snowflake Christmas Cupcake Toppers

Add a little pizzaz by using an interesting paper punch. We used a snowflake paper punch and 1-1/2" and 2" round paper punches. Our design uses festive red and white holiday colors, but you can choose any color combination you like. After punching out the snowflakes, glue them to the smaller circles. You can leave them this way or attach them to a larger circle in a contrasting color.

Paper Christmas Tree Picks

We were inspired by the cupcake topper featured on Go Make Me and created our own version. Start with a strip of green paper cut into strips 1/4-1/2" wide and 11" long. Wind the strip in a snaking pattern back and forth. As you snake the paper back and forth make the width progressively smaller until you get to the top of the tree. Poke a bamboo skewer through the center to hold it in place. Cut out a star from a contrasting color of paper and glue to the top.

Christmas Card Cupcake Toppers

Here's a clever way to make use of old Christmas cards: Turn them into beautiful cupcake picks. At the end of each season, select those cards with images you like -- faces, small holiday scenes or whatever you like. Cut out those images in a square, circle or oval. Select a coordinating tissue color and cut it into a strip about 1/2" wide. Gather the tissue into ruffles either by hand or by using a needle and thread (loosely sew stitches into the tissue and gently pull the thread to create ruffles). Turn over your cut out holiday image and attach the tissue border using glue or tape. If you want to try something different, you can use wire edged ribbon (which is used in the blue topper example above).
