Baby Bib Cupcake
These sweet baby bib cupcakes are easy to create with the help of a simple scallop cutter.
Your favorite butter cream frosting tinted light blue
Baby Bib Decorating Supplies:
Pre-made batch of white fondant
(we used Wilton’s Ready-To-Use Rolled Fondant)
Metal circle-shaped cutter (we used the medium 1" circle cutter from Wilton’s Round Fondant Cut-outs)
Metal scalloped circle-shaped cutter (we used a 1-1/2" cutter)
Blue and Green Food Coloring
(we used Wilton’s paste food coloring in Royal Blue and Leaf Green)
Small Rolling Pin
Wax Paper
Food-safe Paint Brush
Small Flower Cutter
Small White Sugar Pearls

Making the Baby Bibs:
Step 1: With the small rolling pin, roll out white fondant to 1/4" thickness. Cut out shapes using the scallop cutter. Place the 1" round cutter about 1/2" away from the edge of the cut out scallop and press down to cut out the collar of the bib. Set aside bibs to dry and harden.
Step 2: Break off two small pieces of white fondant. Tint one piece light blue and the other light green.
Step 3: Roll the blue fondant out on a flat surface to about 1/8" thick. Cut out flower shapes using the small flower cutter. Set aside.
Step 4: Break off a small piece of green fondant and roll into a ball. Flatten ball by pressing down on it with your finger. Gently pinch the ends to form points. Set aside.
Assembling Bibs:
Step 1: Dip food safe paint brush in water and dampen the back of the blue flower. Gently press it onto the bottom right of the bib.
Step 2: Using a toothpick or pointed slylus, press into the center of the flower to create a slight depression. Carefully position a white sugar pear in the center.
Step 3: Lightly dampen the end of the leaf and position it to the side of the blue flower.
Step 4: Allow fondant bib to dry and set.
Icing and Decorating the Baby Shower Cupcake:
Step 1: Fit the opening of a pastry bag with a Wilton #1M star metal tip. Fill the icing bag with light blue butter cream.
Step 2: Starting from the outside edge of the cupcake, use a circular motion and squeeze the icing out to cover the cupcake.
Step 3: Place a baby bib in the center of the cupcake.

Making the BABY Plaques:
Step 1: With the rolling pin, roll fondant out on a flat surface to 1/4" thickness.
Step 2: Using the 2” scalloped cutter, cut out shapes. Set aside on wax paper.
Step 3: With the small rolling pin, roll out the white fondant to 1/8” thickness. Using the small flower petal cutter, cut out flower shapes and place a blue sugar pearl in the center. Set aside.
Step 4: Lightly dust the alphabet molds with powder sugar. Press gumpaste into the upper case letter "B" and lower case letters "a-b-y" to spell B – A – B – Y. Carefully remove letters with the stylus or pin.
Step 5: Dampen the back of the letters with a food safte paint brush dipped in water and place them on the blue plaques.
Step 6: Place a white flower at the top and bottom of each plaque. Allow to dry completely.
Icing and Decorating the Baby Shower Cupcake:
Step 1: Tint the butter cream frosting a pale blue. Fit the opening of a pastry bag with a Wilton #1M star metal tip. Fill the icing bag with butter cream.
Step 2: Starting from the outside edge of the cupcake, use a circular motion and squeeze the icing out to cover the cupcake.
Step 3: Top each cupcake with a blue BABY plaque.
Tip: If you have some extra small flowers, carefully place them on one of your iced cupcakes to create a complimentary design.
